Biography:

Professor Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Masud Khan, MBBS, MS, FACS, is a Professor and Head of the Department of Gastro-Intestinal, Laparoscopic & Cancer Surgery at MARKS Medical College & Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and has over 25 years of clinical, academic, and surgical experience. Dr. Khan completed his MBBS, obtained an MS in General Surgery, and later earned FACS. He has also completed advanced laparoscopic training in India and a fellowship in Surgical Oncology in Türkiye. Throughout his career, he has worked in Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Nepal, India, and Türkiye, gaining extensive experience in gastrointestinal, laparoscopic, hepatobiliary, breast, thyroid, and cancer surgery. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and has presented his research at national and international surgical conferences. His research interests include gastrointestinal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, surgical oncology, breast surgery, patient safety, and surgical education. Dr. Khan is an active member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS), the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), the Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh, and the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Bangladesh. In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Khan actively participates in community health initiatives, free medical camps, and humanitarian healthcare services, reflecting his commitment to improving public health and patient care. At the World Congress on Surgery & Anesthesia 2026, he will present his accepted poster titled "Advancing Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery Through Innovation, Precision, and Multidisciplinary Collaboration." He remains committed to advancing surgical excellence through research, innovation, education, and international collaboration.
